Sun May 09 23:56:49 CEST 2021

The Institute of Ethnology will be holding a workshop entitled, “Peer Review: Practical and Critical perspectives.” The event will be held online from 9:30-12:30, Wednesday, May 19th.

Workshop aim: Conducting peer review and providing expert assessment and suggestions on other people’s research is an essential part of being an academic. However, reviewing is also an aspect of our work rarely discussed in detail with our peers. The aim of this workshop is to open a space to share our practical techniques and strategies to doing effective and ethical peer review, as well engage in a critical discussion of politics and problems of peer review system in the social sciences. Throughout the workshop several people will offer short presentations or deliver provocations intended to open discussion among the group. The workshop is organised to foster an exchange between experienced researchers, but also as an opportunity for doctoral students to learn about the peer review process.
