Position available at Institute of Ethnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences

Institute of Ethnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IE CAS) is seeking an experienced researcher who could develop their original research agenda at the institute and further advance the general research foci of the Department of Mobility and Migration (DMM). Preference will be given to a scholar with background and strong publication record in socio-cultural anthropology, ethnology, and closely related disciplines. Focus on issues related to gender, female identities, and/or migration to and from Central Europe, including from countries outside the European Union, is a bonus.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSITION:
• Start date after 1st of January 2023
• A part-time (0.5 FTE) position, with the potential to become full-time
• A three-year initial contract, which upon positive evaluation in compliance with the Institute’s directives, is expected to be turned into a permanent position
• Workplace in Prague or Brno
• Salary is dependent on your educational and work experience and follows the ranking system of the Czech Academy of Sciences and specific directive of IE CAS

The successful candidate is expected to undertake and publish high-quality research, draw external funding, gradually build their own research team, pursue collaborations on both national and international levels, participate in department’s scholarly activities, and make a general contribution to the running of the institute as a whole.

Výběrové řízení na pozici vědeckého pracovníka/pracovnice v Oddělení mobility a migrace Etnologického ústavu AV ČR

Etnologický ústav AV ČR (dále EÚ) hledá zkušeného vědeckého pracovníka/pracovnici, který/á by mohl/mohla rozvinout svou výzkumnou agendu v EÚ a přispět tak ke stávajícím výzkumným aktivitám v Oddělení mobility a migrace (OMM). Upřednostní se vědec/vědkyně se vzděláním a silnou publikační historií v oblasti sociokulturní antropologie, etnologie a příbuzných disciplínách. Obzvlášť přivítáme přihlášky od uchazečů/uchazeček, kteří se zabývají otázkami souvisejícími s genderem, formováním ženských identit, a/nebo migrací z a do zemí střední Evropy (včetně migrace ze zemí mimo EU).

INFORMACE O NABÍZENÉ POZICI:
• Datum nástupu po 1. lednu 2023
• Částečný úvazek (0,5 FTE) s potenciálem navýšení na plný úvazek
• Tříletá pracovní smlouva, která může být prodloužena na dobu neurčitou po pozitivním hodnocení výzkumníka/výzkumnice v souladu se směrnicemi EÚ
• Místo výkonu práce v Praze nebo Brně
• Mzda bude záviset na aktuálním profilu úspěšné kandidátky/kandidáta v souladu s obecnými pravidly AV ČR a specifickými směrnicemi EÚ

Od úspěšného kandidáta/kandidátky se očekává, že bude realizovat a pravidelně publikovat kvalitní výzkum, ucházet se o externí zdroje financování a postupně vytvářet vlastní výzkumný tým, budovat spolupráci na národní i mezinárodní úrovni, účastnit se vědeckých aktivit oddělení a obecně přispívat k chodu EÚ jako celku.
