Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Institute of Ethnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences

The Institute of Ethnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences invites junior researchers, PhD holders, to
apply for a postdoc scholarship funded by the Czech Academy of Sciences. The selection will be a result of
a two-staged process. The Institute will select eligible candidates whose materials will be passed on to the
Board of the Czech Academy of Sciences, which awards the successful candidates with the scholarship. The
date of the start of the contract is 1st July 2021. Researchers are expected to be in residence in Prague.
During their project, researchers are expected to publish scholarly papers/books and participate in all
activities of the Institute of Ethnology (research seminars, conferences and other events).
In the first stage candidates might be invited for an online interview, in the second stage the selection will
be made only on the basis of the written materials. The Institute of Ethnology reserves the right not to fill
the position.
The position is open to post-docs, who in the moment of application can have max. two years after
acquiring PhD (excluding possible parental leave and/or long-term stay abroad, in such case the maximum
time span between acquiring PhD and applying can be 4 years). The candidates must hold their PhD degree
at the time of applying for the position.

• Curriculum Vitae and List of publications
• Proof of the PhD degree
• Project title, project proposal including planned deliverables and a rough work plan (together up to 4500
characters incl. spaces), please indicate the preferred length of the contract between 12 and 24 months
• Motivation letter
