Open Book Publishers has published Waltzing Through Europe: Attitudes towards Couple Dances in the Long Nineteenth Century that explores the changing reception of fashionable couple dances in Europe from the eighteenth century onwards. Daniela Stavělová from the Department of Ethnomusicology and Ethnochoreology of the Institute of Ethnology has contributed a chapter titled The Polka as a Czech National Symbol.
