RESEARCH PROFILE

My current research focuses on studying the impact of the war in Ukraine on contemporary society.

First and foremost, this involves studying the behavioural strategies of migration and voluntary immobility among Ukrainians during wartime. I am researching and comparing the motives and decision-making algorithms regarding relocation/refusal to relocate among Ukrainians living in Ukraine and Germany.

Another area of research is an attempt to determine how Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has affected the representations and practices of everyday life of residents of the Ukrainian-Slovak border region. Studying this experience allows us to better understand how the perception of the border is changing in border communities, how residents are forming new strategies for survival, forms of solidarity, and identity.
