On Monday, 29 January 2024, Bristol University Press published Ethnographic Methods in Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Research: Lessons from a Time of Crisis that is co-edited by Martin Fotta of the Department of Mobility and Migration and Paloma Gay y Blasco of the University of St Andrews. The publication explores the methodological and ethical challenges faced by researchers working with Gyps, Roma and Traveller communities during global crises. Contributors reflect on the impact of the pandemic on their engaged research. The book explains why innovative collaboration with local communities is important and beneficial. The book introduces new trends in ethnographic research and contributes to debates about the positionality of researchers and the politics of research.
