Maike Melles has been awarded the 2026 Wilhelm Bender Dissertation Prize by Goethe University Frankfurt for her anthropological dissertation (supervised by Roland Hardenberg) on the dehesa landscape in Spain. First awarded in 2019, the annual prize honours outstanding achievements by young scholars in the humanities and social sciences. The award was presented during the Academic Ceremony of the Friends and Supporters of Goethe University in June.
