Romani chords in seven ethnographic pictures

Romani chords in seven ethnographic pictures

06. 10. 2024

Audiovisual recording of Petr Nuska's lecture at the ESEM 2024.
Listen to the recording of Petr Nuska's lecture about his ongoing research on Romani chords, delivered at this year's European Seminar of Ethnomusicology in Zagreb. The project started this month (September 2024) at the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and is carried out within the prestigious scheme of the Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship. The lecture is designed as an engaging introduction to the topic – presenting seven ethnographic pictures that inspired the formulation of the central hypotheses. Although the lecture was intended primarily for (ethno)musicologists, fans of (Romani) music, (subversive) music theory, and, last but not least, fans (and opponents) of AI-generated images will also find something to enjoy. The lecture is available via the embedded video.
