Project Support Department
The Project Support Department (PSD) provides essential, institute-wide support to researchers, enabling them to focus on scientific work while PSD manages the administrative, strategic, and operational aspects of projects. The department serves as a hub for expert advice on research funding and as a backbone for project management across the Institute, ensuring all projects are efficiently developed, implemented, and successfully managed.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Funding and Grant Support
Identifies suitable funding opportunities (Czech, European, and international), advises on proposal strategy, and assists with preparation, budgeting, and submission of applications.
- Project Administration and Compliance
Oversees the full project lifecycle, including post-award administration, reporting, financial control, documentation, assisting with audits, and adherence to institutional, ethical and regulatory requirements.
- Research Team Coordination
Supports principal investigators with staffing, onboarding, training, and day-to-day project coordination.
- Scientific Events and Meetings Support
Organizes internal and public-facing workshops, conferences, and other research-related events, ensuring smooth execution and logistical management.
- Operational Support
Provides practical and logistical assistance for fieldwork, travel arrangements, and other research-related operations.
Experience and Funding Types
PSD has extensive experience managing projects funded by national, European, and international programs. The department’s expertise spans a wide range of grant schemes, including research, innovation and infrastructure initiatives.
