New approaches to the coordination of expatriate issues

The project “New approaches to the coordination of expatriate issues” focuses on Czechs living abroad. Who are they? What ties to Czechia do they have? What support do they need from the Czech state? The answers to these questions evolve through time. This project aims to answer such questions to inform Czechia’s diaspora policy.

The project is financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic through the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (grant no. TITBMZV919). It is an applied research project which aims to answer policy-relevant questions and make recommendations to public authorities and policymakers. Still, it is also open to exploring new directions that may emerge along the way. Duration: 2 years (started November 2020)

The research team consists of representatives of three organizations: 1) the GEOMIGRACE research centre from the Faculty of Science of Charles University (doc. RNDr. Eva Janská, Ph.D., et al.) with colleagues from CZexpats in Science Association (Olga Löblová, PhD. et al.) 2) Institute of Ethnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, v.v.i. (Mgr. Veronika Beranská, Ph.D., and doc. PhDr. Zdeněk Uherek, CSc.) 3) National Institute for Innovative Technologies Research – NUVIT (Mgr. Kateřina Zachová et al.).
